How can we help?

Overtiles for iPhone and iPad

I cannot feel the haptics

On iPhone, open Settings → Sounds & Haptics and make sure System Haptics is enabled. Low Power Mode and some accessibility settings may also reduce feedback. iPad hardware support for haptic feedback varies.

I cannot hear the tile sounds

Check the sound setting inside Overtiles and your device volume. Depending on your settings, Silent Mode may mute game audio.

Does Overtiles need the internet?

No. Every game, score and theme works offline. Overtiles has no account, advertising or analytics.

How do I switch between Recall and Focus?

Tap the mode icon in the board's bottom-right corner to jump straight to the other game.

How do I change the board size or theme?

Swipe vertically anywhere on the board—or use the grid icon next to Mode—to cycle through board sizes. Swipe horizontally to cycle through all seven materials: Walnut Atelier, Optical Glass, Anodized Aluminium, Glazed Porcelain, Saddle Leather, Honed Basalt, Piano Lacquer.

To reshuffle the current board, tap Restart or give the device a deliberate shake.

Any tips for playing well?

Recall is less luck than it feels. Work the board in a fixed order—one corner across and down—and keep a running mental list of what you've seen. The moment a revealed tile repeats something on that list, you already know where its twin is.

Focus: scan before you tap. Note roughly where 00 through 09 sit before your first move, then work through each ten-number decade as its own batch rather than hunting the whole board fresh every time.

How does scoring work?

Recall and Focus share five golf-style tiers—Albatross, Eagle, Birdie, Par, Bogey—shown on the completion card after every round. Recall earns them by move count; Focus by finishing time. Every tier is calculated on your device—nothing is uploaded or compared to anyone else's scores.

Par is always the preset's own time limit—finishing at all, however close to the buzzer, hits it. Bogey works differently in Focus: it's a near-miss for a run that timed out just short of the last few tiles, not a slower finish. iPad thresholds scale to its larger boards and presets.
