IT LISTENS BEYOND THE BARK
Overbark picks out each individual bark and measures its pitch, tone and timing—the very things researchers link to how a bark actually feels—while a live soundwave shows what it’s hearing as it happens, even if your dog trots out of frame.
IT READS THE WHOLE DOG
Overbark watches how your dog is actually holding itself—sitting, standing, mid-zoomie—moment to moment, not from one frozen picture. It can track up to two dogs, give each their own conversation column and notice when a named member of the household is missing.
IT KNOWS THE MOMENT
Overbark reads the scene around your dog and listens for everyday sounds—thunder, sirens, the doorbell. A ball, a beach, a bird or dinner each sends the dialogue somewhere new.

Overbark’s read on a bark is grounded in real, published research into how animals communicate—which found that people can sense a surprising amount of a bark’s mood from its pitch, tone and rhythm alone. It runs entirely on Apple’s own on-device intelligence—the built-in technology in your iPhone and iPad that listens, watches and understands, without ever reaching out to the internet.
It is an entertainment app, not a literal animal translator. The dog denies everything. Overbark is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by any researcher or institution. The dialogue is authored comedy, not anyone’s scientific findings.
